Green oak

Our oak is sourced from local sawmills and woodlands. It is worked green, which means that it has been freshly cut down and is unseasoned.

Once the piece of furniture is made it will season over the next few years. Its colour will slowly change to a silvery grey and it will develop characterful splits. It may be necessary to occasionally sand down areas of the furniture to avoid splinters.
